Join in the adventure of our daily talks, tours and workshops!
We don't only have fun during the school holidays. We run a full program of activities every day throughout the year. Our daily schedule of talks, tours, interactive shows and activities like boomerang throwing is included with your entry ticket, there is no extra charge. See our Daily Ranger-led Activities schedule for more details of activites running every half an hour throughout the day. During school holidays and on weekends, we extend our afternoon bush tucker walk to take you all the way to the Aboriginal sites, so if you want to head out with your ranger on this one hour Walkabout Workshop, wear good walking shoes as the tracks can be rugged in places.
Special Vacation Care Walkabout Workshops for groups of children!
For vacation care groups and for any group of children (children must be accompanied by a responsible adult), we offer a special adventure. We combine all of the best activities from our Spikes, Scales, Feathers and Fur Workshop and our Bush Lessons Workshop including the most popular Aboriginal activities such as boomerang throwing and bush tucker. This is an amazing way to introduce your children to the fascinating world of the Australian bush!

Walkabout Workshop Timing
Arrive at 10am. Program starts at 10:30am. Break to eat the lunch you've brought with you at around 11:45am.
Activities continue after lunch. Head out again with your ranger at around 12:15pm. Program finishes at around 1:30pm.
Walkabout Workshop Price
$320 for up to 16 children. $20 per additional child if more than 16 children. No charge for 1 adult for each 8 children. Extra adults pay kids' prices.

Your questions answered:
What if it rains?
The weather never stops a ranger. It's even more fun in the wet. Just bring your raingear and get ready for an adventure you will never forget. (If the weather is extreme, we may cancel, but only if the weather is dangerous).
Can the children attend on their own?
No. This is the real bush. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The adult's responsibility is to ensure all of the rangers' safety instructions are followed.
Must we book?
You will need to book if you want to join a special vacation care Walkabout Workshop. If you are booking for 16 or more children, please contact us to arrange your ranger-led adventure.
However, you can visit Walkabout Park on any day and join in the fun of our daily ranger-led activities. For normal entry there is no need to book. Just buy a General Entry ticket online or at the gate.
What should we wear?
Wear good comfortable flat closed shoes.
Wear a sun hat.
Bring your rain gear, just in case.
What else should we bring?
Bring the kids (and whoever else happens to be around).
Bring sunscreen even if it is overcast.
Bring insect repellant.
Bring water bottles (or you can buy water or juice at the cafe).
