Sydney Huntsman – Holconia Immanis ~ This species is one of Australia’s largest Huntsmans measuring an astounding 45mm long and 160mm across including outstretched legs. This species is attractive with mottled shades of grey and brown with white and grey hairs. They also have a stripe running down their carapace.
Interesting Facts
It can be distinguished from other species by its leg length! Its third and fourth pairs of legs are half the size of the others.
This spider is not dangerous but can give a painful bite to a threatening person, especially when defending egg sacs in the summer months.
Distribution
They are found in eastern Australia from Victoria to Queensland, where it is widely distributed.
