Critically endangered Tasmanian devils arrives at Walkabout Park
3 little surprise boxes flew in from Victoria this evening, arriving at our gate at midnight. Can you guess their species? They’re ferocious little hunters. They’re teeny tiny cousins of the Tasmanian devil. They’ve got spots on their bodies but not on their tails. They’ve got spiky tails and pouches. Cats and dogs, along with foxes, drove them to extinction on mainland Australia. They’re endangered and in serious trouble. You will need to visit us after dark if you want to meet them. We’ll post pictures of their adventures over the next few weeks as they settle in, and share ideas about how you can help to save them from extinction.
