If you love the bush and animals roaming free, if you want to visit ancient Aboriginal sites and to learn about bush tucker and bush medicine or if you enjoy bush walking, you’ll love Walkabout Park.

You never know who you’ll meet at dusk.
An evening with the animals. Go spotlighting for wildlife with your ranger. Play tug-of-war with the devils. Toast marshmallows on the campfire (weather permitting). Bring a picnic, good walking shoes, and a flashlight!

Come and meet Kambala and Gumnut, our resident koalas.
Lots of animals roaming free, visit ancient Aboriginal sites. No booking needed. 9am to 5pm every day (except Christmas Day). Ranger-led activities from 10am to 4pm included in Entry Fee.

You’re welcome to take your map and head out along the Animal Loop to say “good morning” to the animals and the rangers as they go about their morning work. Or explore the bush tracks! Our first scheduled ranger-led encounter is at 10:20, but you’re welcome to explore until then. The animals are always happy to see you.
10:20 Emus & Kangaroos gathering for their morning scatter feed (we never hand feed our wild animals, that’s why they are so gentle with people)
11:00 Dingoes – head over to the Dingo Camp and see what they and the rangers are getting up to
11:40 “Waffles” the “not-so”-miniature Pig has his 3rd breakfast, for Christopher Robins fans, that’s “Elevenses”
12:20 Echidnas‘ lunch time
1:00 Snakes, Lizards & Turtles – meet the reptiles
1:40 Flying Foxes & Kookaburras – the rangers are servicing the Bat Camp and can tell you about these fascinating creatures
2:20 “Gumnut” the Koala is having his gum leaves changed
3:00 Wombats – meet “Ally” or “Hippo” with the rangers and learn about what it takes
3:40 Tasmanian devil – it’s feeding time for “Bucky”
4:00 Kangaroos & Emus gather for their afternoon scatter feed (we never hand feed our wild animals, that’s why they are so gentle with people)
