Wallabia agilis
Other common name – Sandy Wallaby
The Agile Wallaby is very common in the northern parts of Australia in the Northern Territory, West Australia and Queensland, as well as in Papua New Guinea.
At Walkabout Park you will meet a small bachelor group of male agile wallabies. They are quite sociable with their own species and will usually be seen together. These animals are usually seen close to the Visitor Centre and are reasonably relaxed around people. They will usually jump away if you try to touch them, but increasingly they are letting visitors who approach them very quietly, to touch them on their tails and backs.
