Risks & Liability
Walkabout Park is a working wildlife sanctuary. The environment at Walkabout Park can be dangerous including (but not limited to) the Australian bush, free-roaming animals, steps and elevated walkways. Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times. It is an express condition of your entry and your participation in the activities conducted by Walkabout Park that you do hereby, for yourself, your heirs, executors, assigns and next-of-kin and each of them release, waive and discharge Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park and its officers, directors, agents, employees and volunteers of and from all liability, claims or demands for all injuries, losses, damages of any kind or nature to your person or property or to that of any minor under your supervision, while on the property of Walkabout Park.
Ticket Conditions
Tickets are valid for the date, or the validity period, appearing on the ticket and cannot be extended.
All tickets (except annual passes) are for single entry only.
Tickets are non-refundable.
Lost, stolen or destroyed tickets cannot be replaced.
Walkabout Park reserves the right to request proof of age for child tickets or adult supervisors.
Walkabout Park reserves the right to request proof of elligibility for a concession ticket or a group ticket.
Walkabout Park reserves the right to request proof of identification for non-transferrable tickets such as annual passes.
Entry & Access
Guests must enter via a public entrance.
Guests must pay the entrance fee where applicable.
Guests are not permitted to enter or remain outside public hours.
Guests are not permitted to enter any non-public area or exhibit.
Supervising Children
Children 15 years and under must be actively supervised by an accompanying adult at all times.
An adult is deemed to be any person aged 16 years or older.
Guest Clothing
Guests must wear shoes at all times.
Guests must wear a shirt at all times.
Behaviour affecting animals
Guests are not permitted to use any audio equipment or musical instrument at a volume likely to disturb any animal.
Guests are not permitted to touch or interfere with any animal unless under the direction of Walkabout Park staff.
Guests are not permitted to feed any animal, unless under the direction of Walkabout Park staff.
Guests are not permitted to allow any part of their body or any object, such as a ‘go pro photo stick’, to reach inside the wall or fence or stand-off barrier of any animal camp or enclosure.
Guests are not permitted to throw any object such as sand or a stick or stone.
Beahviour affecting people
Guests are not permitted to behave in a manner that is likely to cause offence or disruption to other guests.
Beahviour affecting property
Guests are not permitted to interfere with any vegetation unless under the direction of Walkabout Park.
Guests are not permitted to remove or disturb any rock, stone, sand or similar substance, without Walkabout Park’s express permission.
Guests are not permitted to throw any object; climb on, damage or deface any structure or sign; light any fire; or litter.
Smoking
Walkabout Park is a smoke-controlled site. Smoking is prohibited except in designated smoking areas.
Commercial Activity
Guests are not permitted to conduct any commercial activity in Walkabout Park grounds including the use of any media equipment, unless expressly permitted by Walkabout Park in writing.
Guests’ own animals
Walkabout Park is a permanent quarantine site.
Guests are not permitted to bring any animal into Walkabout Park.
Guests are not permitted to leave animals in their car or tethered in the carpark.
Rescued Wildlife
Rescued wildlife should be taken to your closest vet (we recommend Somersby Animal Hospital phone (02) 4372 1799 where they specialise in the treatment of Australian native animals).
In an emergency, rescued wildlife may be delivered to Walkabout Park reception. Please call (02) 43751100 in advance.
Alcohol and other substances
Guests are not permitted to bring into Walkabout Park any alcohol, unless expressly permitted by Walkabout Park in writing.
Guests are not permitted to bring into Walkabout Park any illegal substance.
If Walkabout Park staff in their sole discretion believes a person may be under the influence of alcohol or any other substance (legal or illegal), that person may be required to leave Walkabout Park immediately and using their own resources. Walkabout Park will not be responsible for their costs of departure, and no refund will be given.
Prohibited toys and other items
Guests are not permitted to bring into Walkabout Park any animal costume; ball; balloon; bicycle, scooter, skateboard, roller blades or similar apparatus.
Park or exhibit closure
Walkabout Park has the authority to close Walkabout Park or any part thereof, including any animal exhibit or show, or any path or track, at any time for reasons of adverse weather, equipment failure, maintenance and construction, or in the interests of safety of animals or people, and will not be liable for any loss or expense incurred by a guest as the result of such closure.
Animals may be resting or sleeping, or off display for any reason.
There will be no refunds or rain checks due to inclement weather, or animals not on display, or full or partial park closure.
Legal protection of Aboriginal sites
There are serious legal penalties for damaging or interfering in any way with Aboriginal Sites. Aboriginal sites are protected by NSW State and Federal Law. If you damage a site, or allow someone else to do so, you will be prosecuted and the law provides heavy fines and jail sentences.
Failure to comply with T & C’s
Any guest who does not comply with Walkabout Park’s Terms & Conditions may be required to leave Walkabout Park.
Any guest who causes damage to Walkabout Park property may be required to make good such damage.
Any guest who damages an Aboriginal site will be prosecuted under the law.
