What it means to be a Walkabout Partner
Why our partnerships are so important.
The reason we can do as much as we do for wildlife, is because our partners help us. We can’t afford to pay for everything our animals need, and all the environmental work we do, with dollars. But we can offer “in kind” value to our partners. We share what we have and our partners value with our partners. Our partners share what they have and what we need with us. It is these partnerships that make it possible for us to feed and care for nearly 400 animals, buy plane tickets for the animals we fly across Australia to wild release sites, maintain our wildlife sanctuary as a safe place where people can experience what animals need, do what we can for our local community, and welcome those who want to learn how to care for country following ancient traditional Aboriginal lore.
Our partners are so generous with their time and support, often at significant cost and personal inconvenience.
Some of our partners are large organisations, others are tiny local businesses or business people. To us they are all the same. Within each organisation, our partners are a team of amazing individuals – people who have taken the time to learn about what we do, who care as passionately about wildlife and ‘connecting with country’ as we do, and who have decided to help us to keep doing what we do, and to do more where we can!
